Are You Ready For Tomorrow?

September is National Preparedness Month.

Lets start making our Basic Disaster Supply kit by getting water and food.

1.WATER

The human body can survive 8 to 14 days without water and 7 to 8 weeks without out food depending on the persons condition and the environment type.
How much water do I need? 1 gallon of water per day per person for at least 3 days.
How Should I store my water?  You can purchase bottle water, or prepare your own containers and fill them with water.
Water can also be treated with water purification tablets.
Water that has not been commercially bottled should be replaced every six months.

2.Food

Store at least a 3 day supply of food.  During a disaster/survival situation there may be no power.  Stock foods that don’t need refrigeration, cooking, water or prep work.  Be sure to include a manual can opener, eating utensils.
